The mission of the Bureau of Fire
Prevention is to provide the citizens of Whippany with
protection against loss of life and property by fire through
code enforcement. In recent years the mission of the Fire
Prevention Bureau has expanded to include the area of public
education.
Careful, systematic and intelligent fire inspections of
schools, institutions, assemblies, and businesses are
conducted by professional, fire department trained,
uniformed fire inspectors. These inspections coupled with
pro-active public education programs are the backbone of
effective fire prevention accomplishments. They are the most
powerful factors in the reduction of major losses of life
and property.
