Procedure for joining
the
Whippany Fire Department
(Regular Member)
Each step must be completed and returned to the Whippany
Fire Company before completing the next step.
Forms can be picked up at the firehouse.

I) Complete the Whippany Fire Company
Application
Sign the Check List for Whippany Fire Company Membership
Have your application Notarized
Complete the New Jersey Sate Fireman’s Association
Application
Either mail or drop off the forms above to the Whippany Fire
Company
(Note: Both the Hanover Township Town Hall
and Whippany Park High School can notarize your application)

II) Once the Whippany Fire Company has
received the information above, we will contact you and
provide you with a Background Check sheet.
The Background Check sheet along with the Check List for
Whippany Fire Company Membership need to be filled out and
returned to the Whippany Fire Company.

III) Once the Whippany Fire Company has
received the Background Check Sheet along with the Check
List for Whippany Fire Company Membership, we will provide
you with the Physical Test Record, Breathing Apparatus
Questionnaire Package, Respiratory Protection Questionnaire
review sheet and the Attention Letter which will tell the
applicant where to go get a physical and whom to speak to in
reference to physicals.

After receiving this information, the
applicant needs complete the forms before they get their
physical and then go get their physical at the location
stated in the Attention Letter. When this is completed, the
forms need to be returned to the Whippany Fire Company.
(Firefighter I must be completed within
the first year of membership! The WFD will pay for it.)
