Volunteering with the Whippany Fire Department is one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences you will find. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, and we’re always looking for individuals 16 and older to join our ranks.
About
We provide township residents with fire suppression, fire code enforcement, and public education services. The department is served by our career staff and over 100 active volunteer firefighters accessible by pagers and provides 24-hour fire suppression services from our firehouse, centrally located in town.

As a volunteer firefighter, you enjoy the challenge of using newly learned skills. You will enjoy the friendship and fellowship gained from working with a team of people dedicated to helping the community. Service in the volunteer division has multiple benefits and could lead to a career in the Fire Service as we’ve had members join our careers staff and career fire departments across the United States.
Fire District #2:
The Fire District is governed by a Board of Fire Commissioners who the registered voters of the Whippany elect. Each year, the board is responsible for submitting a budget to the State of New Jersey for review and approval.
The Board of Fire Commissioners is also responsible for establishing administrative policies, hiring and appointing members, and funding the operations of the Fire District within the guidelines and statutes of the State of New Jersey. The board, as public officials, must follow all of the rules promulgated for public agencies.

The Whippany Fire Company needs your financial support. We cannot exist without it. Your volunteer firefighters are your neighbors who volunteer their time to serve the community. We respond to your calls for assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in any weather, at any time of the day or night. We also spend numerous hours on administrative duties and fundraisers. Although our volunteer services are FREE, your generous donation helps us continue our 100-year tradition of serving our residents.
